Asia’s first tidal power plant used for commercial purposes will be built in the state of Gujarat in India. The government of Gujarat shook hands on the first stage of agreements with the UK Based company Atlantis Resources Corporation recently for the building of a tidal power plant with a capacity of upto two hundred plus Mega Watts. The power plant is slated to be built in the Gulf of Kutch in the western coast of the country. The project is expected to cost anything upwards of $ 150 million.
